7 Halloween events: A countdown to the 31st

With Halloween fast approaching, many organizations on campus are getting involved in the fall festivities. From costume parties and pumpkin carving to trick-or-treating and haunted houses, here are 7 on-campus and off-campus activities that are sure to keep you festive before and during the spookiest time of the year.

On October 26th, the Berea Arts Council will be hosting the Halloween Ghost Stories event for storytellers. The event will be held at 444 Chestnut St. and will begin at 7pm. Events like these typically open the floor for those with their own scary stories to tell. If you have a haunting tale of your own, consider attending—‘tis the season for a scare, after all.

On October 27th, the opening nights for “After Death” and the long-awaited “Five Nights At Freddy’s” will be held at Cinemark in Richmond. Additionally, “Killers of the Flower Moon” is showing at Cinemark now.

Open on Fridays and Saturdays until October 28th, the Edge of Darkness Haunted House is sure to give you a fright. The Edge of Darkness Haunted House is located at 128 Mt. Vernon Rd right here in Berea.

On October 29th, the Office of Student Engagement is hosting an event from 2 – 5pm at Alumni Fields called Pumpkin Patch and Carve. For those of you that could do without a scare but still want to get involved in the festivities, this might be what you’re looking for.

And on Halloween itself, there will be multiple events happening both on and off campus:

Hosted by Student Life, the Hall Trick or Treat Event will be hosted at the Quad from 5:15 – 6:15pm. There will be music, Halloween goodies, popcorn, cotton candy, and more offered at the event.

Additionally, there will be a Halloween Costume Party in the Woods-Penniman Building from 6:30 – 9:30pm hosted by CAB. If you have a costume that you’re sure others will be impressed by, consider showing it off to your peers!

And last but not least, Berea and Richmond will have their trick-or-treating times from 6 – 8pm this year.

For more information about other Halloween events happening soon, be sure to visit the Berea Engage website to stay up to date on all of the festivities happening near you.

With that, Berea College News wishes you a Happy Halloween!
